Frequently Asked Questions
How long is your worship service at Francis Makemie Presbyterian?
We have one service every Sunday that begins at 9:15 service and is normally less than an hour. During worship there is a time for conversation with the children and once a quarter the celebration of the Lord's Supper.
What should I wear to worship?
Most people dress casual. You might notice a few suits and ties, but most often people dress comfortably. We believe that God cares far more about your heart than your attire, so we encourage you to dress in a way that honors God and is comfortable for you.
Do you have childcare?
No, we do not have child care or a nursery. We do have a moment with the children during worship. We also have a small room with toys the children can choose to have with them during worship as well as coloring pages and other things to help them feel part of the service. They also assist in worship with age appropriate responsibilities.
Is the church accessible to the handicapped?
We have a ramp at the kitchen entrance. Let us know what other handicap assistance you might need and we will do our best to accommodate .
I’m from a different denominational background. Does that make a difference?
Not at all. At Francis Makemie Presbyterian, we have members who come from a variety of different backgrounds. While we are thankful for our Presbyterian heritage, we believe that we are primarily followers of Jesus Christ and it is by that name that we are known. We have families with small children, retired couples, widows, divorcees, singles, working, stay at home, those raised in the church and those new to the faith. We are glad you checked out our website and we look forward to meeting you.
